The Echuca Moama Rockets returned from competing at the Wodonga Football and Sports Club with a one (win) and two (losses) record.
“It was fantastic to have them back in action,” Rockets coach Mark McGann said.
“We've been looking forward to getting back on the field. It's been a long time off so everyone was really excited to be back out there.”
Game One - Rockets 0.2 (2) lt. Wangaratta 9.5 (59)
The Rockets opened the competition against the Wangaratta Magpies.
The Magpies took flight early, booting three goals in the opening half of the game, while the Rockets opened their account with two behinds.
The Rockets were kept off the board in the second half, with the Magpies dominating play with a six-goal half, leading to a 57-point win.
Nate Spiers, a debutant from the Rockets Auskick program, made an early impact, and was named in the bests for the first time.
Goals: Nil.

Game Two - Rockets 5.7 (37) def. GV Stars 3.2 (14)
David Mundy is making the case to be the best player in the AFL this year.
While in Echuca-Moama, it's Jack Mundie stealing the show.
Mundie was the second Rockets debutant to make his way through the Auskick system up to the senior side.
Mundie was named best on ground as he kicked two goals to lead the Rockets to their first win of the season.
Mundie booted the first goal of the game for the Rockets, but the side struggled in front of the sticks in kicking 1.5, but led the Stars (1.2) by three points at the break.
The Rockets charged out of the gate in the second half, booting four goals to the Stars’ two.
The 23-point margin was more than enough, giving the Rockets their first win.
Fellow debutant Josh Trevena also made it into the sides bests for the first time.

Game Three - Rockets 3.3 (21) lt. Wodonga 5.2 (32)
With two subs taking the field and getting goals, the Rockets more than held their own in the first half.
Katrina Deaney also hit the scoreboard, locking the Rockets and the Bulldogs up at 3.2 each at half-time.
While the Rockets could only post the one behind in the second half, Wodonga kicked two goals to win the match.
