A brief history of one of Echuca-Moama’s iconic races

– The race has been running since 1998.

– The inaugural race was a half-marathon length with less than 50 runners taking part.

– The course lengths have been amended over time to improve accessibility to the community, at one time offering courses from 12km and 21.2km to the current day runs of 5km and 10km.

– 720 runners in 2014 stands as a record-breaking event, with that iteration raising $22,000 for the community.

– The race has not been run since 2019 with COVID-19 preventing any race start.

– Runners will be pitted against one of the oldest functioning paddle-steamers in the world, with the PS Adelaide operating since 1866.
