Saturday B1: Home to Wangaratta and bowlers had an excellent day with all three rinks getting up.
61 to 37 shots getting all 14 points which promotes them into third spot on the ladder. Hopefully with players available, teams will consolidate and the club can continue to be competitive for the second half of the season.
Great to see Mal back and that he hasn’t lost his touch.
One game to go and Saturday is a bus trip to Myrtleford then home to the Community Christmas Party.
Saturday A3: Travelled to Wodonga, yet another bus saga, we did get there with time to spare.
Wodonga had an inch of rain Friday night putting all greens underwater. Greenkeeper Wokka kept away so avoided any comments made on the pace of the green by his old teammates.
Not that he would listen at any rate!
Tunga defeated Wodonga 97 to 81 shots, with two rinks getting up to give Tunga 14 points.
Thanks to Smav, Nob, Bill and Phillip with their 34 to 18 shot win. Tunga remain in fourth spot on the ladder and play Bright at home on Saturday. To celebrate the victory, we took the scenic route home. Past the Chocolatier factory, not quite as much water as one journey over seven bridges, Boorhaman, Peechelba, Wilby and at last Tungamah to get well-earned sandwiches.
Tunga play Bright on Saturday and follow the game with a community Christmas party, Free BBQ, Kids stuff, live music and a fun get together to celebrate the start of the festive season.
Everyone is welcome and the club hope the Thursday night supporter base all come and join.
Thank you to the Yarrawonga Chronicle for printing Tungamah Bowls Club news and results each week, we do appreciate your support and wish each of you and your readers a happy, safe Christmas with family and friends.

Club Championships
Well what a cracking 2 games we were treated to in both or men’s and women’s Club Championship games under very trying conditions.
It was a searing 36 deg and the humidity was stifling. Michael Szabo defeated Ian Woods by 2 shots in a quality game of bowls that was a delight to watch.
It really was a tale of 2 halves with Woodsy securing a decent lead early and seeming to have all the answers.
Zarbs then found his groove pegging away consistently with some ripper shots and taking the lead and looking like the result was a forgone conclusion.
The Wiley Woodsy however staged another comeback and the guys had everyone guessing to the end.
A great match by 2 great opponents. Well done Zarbs on claiming the Championship and congrats to Woodsy for another stellar year.
The womens game was just as engrossing between Claire Sanders and Evelyn Calder. Claire got away to a handy start, seeming to feel the green immediately.
Evelyn then switched right on and produced some excellent bowls to quickly move out to very decent lead and was on a roll.
Claire stayed steady and gradually pegged her back. The stifling conditions then turned to a dramatic lightening and then heavy rain show with the umpire deeming conditions unsafe and ordering the players off the green at Ev 24 Claire 23 with only 1 or 2 shots needed to determine the result!
After a 30-45 min hiatus it was decided conditions were suitable to resume and Claire came out to take the final end and the Championship.
Congratulations Claire on the title and also to Evelyn. Great game ladies!
Over 60s
2 teams went off to Howlong for the day with K Allender’s skipped rink having 1 win and 2 losses. R Wickams rinks had a day of close games winning 1 game by 1 shot, 1 draw and 1 loss.

Club Mulwala Bowls
Midweek Pennant –
Unfortunately all 3 teams endured a washout last Tuesday due to the rain.
A2s are still sitting 2nd on the ladder by the narrowest of percentages to take over the top spot.
The team is playing last place St. James at home next game, so the club expect a great win from the team.
The A3 team was heading to play Yackandandah last week, but had a wash out, this is such a shame as ClubMulwala were looking forward to taking on the last placed team in the comp and come home with a good win.
Instead the team had to share the points and remain at 5th on the ladder. Looking forward to facing Corowa RSL at home next game and seal a win.
B2s endured another washout and will now travel to Wang/Wareena next game. Currently sitting 6th on the ladder, the team need to beat the 7th place side to make it the top 4 and then onto the finals.
Weekend Pennant –
The A4s travelled to Wangaratta and narrowly lost. Club Mulwala shots 82, points 2. Wangaratta shots 91, points 2. This result now puts the team 3rd on the ladder. The team will take on last placed Benalla on Saturday and expect to win and return to 2nd.
The best rink at Wangaratta was (S) John Walford, (3) Wade McPherson, (2) Willy Lockwood, (L) Marilyn Walford.
The B2s took the long journey to Myrtleford. The game was Club Mulwala 2nd verses Myrtleford 1st. The team played very well and came home with a win. Club Mulwala shots 66, points 12. Myrtleford shots 58, points2.
Best rink on the day was (S) Ray Tovey, (3) Heie Hansen, (2) Carmen Mangen, (L) Martin Kaine. The team is gelling well and hope to maintain the momentum heading into the last half of the season, they now sit on top of the ladder and look forward to playing St. James at home next Saturday.
