The Steamers edged past the Roos 14-72 to 4-65 — a result that sees them retain their spot on top of the ladder, but one that was also closer than they might have anticipated.
First-placed Moama was the heavy favourite against the second-from-bottom Roos, but Kangaroo Flat certainly gave the visitors a run for their money.
Kangaroo Flat was victorious on the first two rinks, with Roos skip Daryl Weymouth besting Moama’s Kevin Brannan 25 shots to 20 and Cameron Wilson sneaking past Bradley Campbell 19-16.

But crucially for the Steamers, it was Moama which was the better team on the final two rinks, with Alex Marshall and Cameron Keenan earning key wins.
Marshall topped Travis Kelly 16 shots to nine, while Keenan’s quartet outclassed Paul Moller 20-12.
Those two scorelines proved to be the difference, lifting the Steamers to a five-shot win.
Keenan and Marshall have been stellar for Moama all season — as skips, Marshall is undefeated in his four matches, while youngster Keenan has earned four wins and lost just once.
The victory for the Steamers, paired with a key result elsewhere, means Moama has now opened up a gap on top of the ladder.
Second-placed South Bendigo faltered last weekend, falling to Eaglehawk 2-47 to 16-78 — giving the Steamers a 12-point lead in the standings.
