He polled 95 votes to win handsomely from Elmore recruit Nick Kellow (52 votes) and ruckman Coby O’Neill (51). Rounding out the top 10 were Logan Demasi (41), Charlie McLay (37), Cam Simpson (35), Tannar Cerrone and Noah Sewell (30), Phil Carroll (25) and Locky Boscarini (22).
Chicquita Vick won a much closer A-grade netball count, taking the best and fairest title with 45 votes, ahead of Caddison Mulholland (37), Jadeja Davies (24), Pip Inglis (23) and Lexi Thomas (22).
Top five vote catchers in the other counts were, Reserves football: 55 Wez Hill, 42 Bayley Lloyd, 38 Luke Rennie, 37 Rob Salter and Steve George, 34 Trent McNamara. – Stanhope co-captain Jack Donnell was a runaway winner of the Lions best and fairest on Saturday.
He polled 58 votes to win from defender Stuart Trevena (26), ruckman Daniel Maher (24), last year’s winner Jono Pearson (23) and centreman Nathan O’Reilly (22).
Jemma Wright won the A-grade netball title for an outstanding season in the goaling circle, polling 29 votes to beat Taylor Sutton (16), Jinaya Nurse (14) and defender Erin Hopkins (11).
Layne Baker won the reserve grade award with 44 votes, ahead of Brad Canny (25), ruckman Falcon Taurua (31) and strong marking forward Daniel Brock (26).
Jacob Gillie (26) and Charlie Lloyd (24) were next best.
In the Under-18 count Will Poole (42 votes) won from joint runners-up Slater Sinclair and Mitch Wright (30 votes) and Rory Wileman (29).
In the remaining netball grades these were the top votecatchers, B-grade: 24 Holly McPhee, 14 Emma Hill and Kaitlyn Joyce, 13 Ellie Turpin, 10 Izzy Pate.
C-grade: 26 Hayley Trevena, 21 Bianca Atley, 18 Steph Said, 9 Kara Canny. – Girgarre ruckman Byron Dryden won the Kangaroos best and fairest ahead of mid-field recruit Josh Marino.
The top netball gong went to Kim Hanratty, who won from co-coach Holly Nelson.
Billie Gahan was the reserve grade winner, from Jack Dann and the B-grade netball winner was Kylie Walsh, ahead of Bella Heggart.
Other winners were Maddy Pangrazio (C-grade) and Caitlin Campbell (C Reserve), while the McDonalds (Jessie and Sophie) were winners of the 17-and-under and 15-and-under awards.
The 13-and-under winner was Ruby McMeekan, who was also best on court in the grand final, and 11-and-under winner was Zara McKenzie.
– Hard nosed mid-fielder Brad Taylor won Merrigum’s best and fairest award in a close count with captain Zak Parkinson.
Taylor won by four votes, with Jake Gascoyne claiming the leading goalkicker award, Shelby Lambrick the most determined and Jacob Prout the most improved.
The Bulldogs best for 2024 joined the club after several seasons in retirement, having spent time in the Northern Football League.
In a lop sided count Hayden Tyler polled 191 votes to win the reserves award from Jack Schoots, while Seth Graham, Will Clarke and Matt Findlay received awards.
Pre-count favourite for the A grade netball title, Breanna Baker, won the award by 20 votes from Latia Doherty. Renee Doyle and Emma Pummeroy were other award winners.
Kelsey Moss won the B grade title from Emily Young, while C grade winner was Samantha Humphrey, by just three votes from Clare Doherty.
League best and fairest winner Bethany McKellar beat Khrystal Keil by one vote to win the C Reserve title, while another of the league winners Alyssa Christou won the 17 & Under count from Angel Spencer.
Brooklyn Holt-Hebbard won the 15 & Under title from Taylor Hoarder, by one vote.
