Incoming Dookie United coach Laura Henderson has a message for her rivals ahead of the A-grade season.
“We’ll be out there to take the number one title”.
The Thunder finished runner-up for the second straight season when they suffered a seven-goal loss to Tallygaroopna in last year’s decider.
But United is back once again to challenge for silverware according to Henderson.
“We’ll look to play a very similar style as last year, but hopefully be more adaptive with our combinations,” she said.
“It (the team) is a pretty well-oiled machine. We’ve retained last year’s A and B-grade squads and welcomed a couple of new faces which is great.”
Henderson returns to a role she held in 2019, before she departed for a year off in 2020 which was followed by a serious leg injury in 2021.
Henderson said she was looking forward to grabbing the magnet board in 2023.
“Watching the girls play finals (last year) helped me really rediscover that passion again for netball,” she said.
