Monday’s Social Bowls last week were well attended with 24 bowlers competing.

Winners with two wins (+15) were Dave Vogel, Iris Vogel and Laurie Quinn from Steve Nolan, Rae Hann and Kerryn Vogel with two wins (+3).
Thursday’s Jackpot Pairs saw 24 teams in attendance with seven two game winners.
Best score went to Daryl LaVelle and Paul Leach (+42) followed by fill ins Leica Roney and Kristy Gillingham (+21). Thanks for filling in at the last minute ladies.
Best one game went to Kevin McGreevy and Dennis Ricketts with plus 16.
The jackpot of $340 was won by Peter Tinning (a great supporter of our club) and his partner and first time attender at our jackpot pairs Daryl Reid. I am sure you will be back Daryl.
Only eight bowlers attended Fridays Scroungers with the winner being Toby Egan from Anna Meyer.
Melbourne Cup Activity day is being held on Tuesday 7 November at 11 am.

The next tournament is the Charlie Williams sponsored Open Twilight Triples on Monday November 3 at 5pm. Three games of two bowl triples with tea after the second game. Entries to Rhonda Gallagher on 0448400051 or on the list in the clubhouse.
The Men’s and Ladies Christmas Fours are next in line on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 December respectively with hams and turkeys as the prizes. Entries to both events to Rhonda Gallagher on 0448400051.
Mini Bingo ($4000) failed to go off again last Friday evening and will be drawn at drinks and nibbles between 4 and 6 on Friday. The members draw was won by Anne Bennett who was not present and will be $140 this Friday.

The winners on 50 points were Pamela Reyment (Skip), Julie Van-Lee (3rd), Dulcie Vanderdrift (2nd) and Marie Hardy (Lead).
Runners-up with 40.5 points were Joan Heales (Skip), Shirley McKinnon (3rd), and Paula Barkham (Lead).
Third prize on 34.5 points were Dawn Beer (Skip), Faye Leahy (3rd), and Lyn Prott (Lead).
A great day was had by all. New bowlers are most welcome.
Lockington Bowls Club
The women played Pairs at their weekly Social bowls on Tuesday. The winning pair were Lorraine Appleby and Phylis MacFarlane (s) in a high standard performance from both bowlers.
On Tuesday evening the first round of the Barefoot bowls series began attracting a quality field of 30 bowlers to enjoy the ideal conditions on offer. The winning team included “Staples”, Peter Eade and Ian Staig (s) with 20 shots up on a close countback from the Phillip Cunnington trio.
The Sixty and Over competition was held at the Moama Bowling Club on Wednesday. A bad luck story from Neil the Haines skipped rink, winning two games then failing by one shot in the final game. Kevin Humbert picked up a voucher for the Best bowler award.
Teams travelled to Mathoura on Wednesday to play the Fours tournament. Lisa Humphries (Echuca), Lorraine Appleby, Kim Ray, Denise Gilmore (s) bowled really well to take home the Third position spoils. Well done.
On Saturday there was a good roll up in the Social bowls with 24 players gracing the green. Rinks was the name of the game played under semi-pennant conditions over 16 ends. The multi talented team of Russell Shawcross, Brian Kinnane, Lloyd Buchanan, Jim Harris (s) overpowered the Ray Hanson rink including Sue Harris, Frank Chugg, Owen McPhee for a runaway 20-12 victory. In other games Kim Ray, Bill Musgrove, Phillip Cunnington, Andy Harris (s) defeated Jenny Fisher, John van den Bosch, Steve Peter and John Fisher(s) 17-13 while Katthi Maddison, Geoff Shawcross, John Andrea, Neil Haines (s) survived a late comeback from Pos Andrea, Ian Staig, John Dowie, Les Brereton (s) to win 15-14.
Campaspe Area Pennant commences this week with the women at home to Moama in the Midweek pennant, while the Weekend pennant starts on Saturday with Division Three and Four at home and Division Five travel to Elmore. Best of bowling to all clubs in the forthcoming Pennant season.
Family and friends gathered at the Bowling Club on Sunday to celebrate the ninetieth birthday of club legend Roy Perks. It was an ideal setting for the celebration as Roy Perks has been a large part of the bowling Club since 1965, being awarded Life Membership for the many years of service plus winning the Club Championship on 28 occasions. Congratulations to Roy Perks on reaching this special milestone.
The club is holding the 55th Annual “AutObarn” Waterwheel Court Classic Fours on Sunday commencing at 9.30am. This is a Gold Letter event and is close to a capacity field. Contact Russell Shawcross 0428 8612468 or Ray Hanson 0235 991865 for details.

Rochester Bowls Club
Under-18 youth
The last barefoot bowls session will be held tomorrow from 4pm to 5pm.
Funded by the Campaspe Shire, the program focuses on skills and having fun.
Learn to bowl with local bowling experts and enjoy novelty games with prizes. Members who can assist should contact Graham Willis.
60-and-over
Bowling continues with 60-and-over at Mathoura on October 18 at 11am.
Social bowls
There were no social bowls on Friday, October 13, because it was the first round of the club championship.
Social bowls will be on Friday, October 20. Ring the office to put your name down. Play begins at 10am.

Campaspe 60 and Over Bowls Report
The Campaspe 60 and Over Bowls Group held their Wednesday weekly bowls at Moama Bowling Club on a warm but pleasant spring day, coinciding with the Murray Hearing Services Day.
28 teams consisting of 112 bowlers all competing for a chook and the Murray Services Shield.
There were two three game winners.
The runners up were Noel West team from Tongala, they had two bowls near the jack within the metre stick.
The Tongala team were lead Ken Chapman, David Keating second, Noel West third and the Skipper was Ian Parkinson.
The winners on the day were Alan Benson’s team from Rochester, they were the other three game winner with 3 bowls near the jack.
They were Bert Smolenaars lead, Alan Benson second, Tim Quinlan third and Kevin Hall was their Skipper.
They also won the Murray Hearing Shield
Members of both teams received a chook each.
