The Goulburn Murray Junior League grand finals will be held this Sunday at Deakin Reserve, with two Moama teams and one Echuca side in the hunt for a flag.

In the Under-14 1 league, Echuca Green, which finished third on the ladder, defied seasonal form and overthrew St Augustine’s Yellow to book a spot in the decider 9.5 (59) to 8.3 (51).

Green trailed early in the fourth after a St Augustine’s major put Yellow up by four points but goals for Charlie Sutton, Toby Kennedy, and Alfred Cunningham earned Echuca a healthy lead with six minutes to go.
The momentum swung Yellow’s way and a pair of goals saw St Augustine’s within two points with under three minutes to play.

However, Green kept their cool and Joey Lowry kicked a late major to bring the final margin out to eight points.
Echuca looks to be up against it in the final as an unbeaten Shepparton Swans outfit will go into the clash as a heavy favourite. First bounce will be at 10.45am.

In Under-14 2, ladder leader Moama slipped up against Tatura in week one of the finals but rebounded effectively against Euroa on Sunday to earn another shot at the Bulldogs in the decider.
Moama made light work of their fellow Magpies, dispatching Euroa 10.9 (69) to 3.2 (20) on their opponent’s home turf.

Including the qualifying final, Moama and Tatura are 2-2 in the season series and both sides will feel they have the quality to break the deadlock with the premiership on the line. The game is set to kick off the junior grand final day at 9am.
Moama will also make its presence felt in the Under-16 2 division, with the Magpies defeating Seymour in the preliminary final to punch their ticket to the final day.
The Mowers went in favourites, having defeated the Lions in both meetings this season, and never looked in serious danger.

Seymour kept things close throughout the first half but Moama was able to take a 5.1 (31) to 4.2 (26) lead into the main break.
The Magpies asserted their dominance in the third term, kicking four goals to two, and added another two unanswered in the final quarter to walk out 11.3 (69) to 6.6 (42) victors.
Bohdi Teasdale-Dohnt starred for Moama, named best on ground after a five-goal haul.
Moama will take on top-ranked side Euroa in the decider, with first bounce at 12.30pm.
