Echuca continued to make its move up the ladder in round 12 of the Goulburn Valley League’s A-grade netball competition, defeating Shepparton United in routine fashion at Deakin Reserve.
The final score was 53-25 as the Murray Bombers maintained an unbeaten streak that stretches back to round four.
The early going was all in Echuca’s favour as it built a 12-5 lead by quarter-time.
Things continued to improve in the second term as the visitor added to its lead and emerged ahead by 13 goals at the half.
The Murray Bombers continued to pile on the goals throughout the second half to secure a dominant win, their eighth of the year.
Belinda Lees and Holly Chadwick continued to partner well in the scoring arc, sharing the load with Lees scoring 24 goals and Chadwick 29.
The result is an impressive one for the defending champions who, admittedly under full strength, fell to the Demons by 12 goals in their April 6 meeting.
After a shaky start to the year, Echuca (8-3-1) is now back within the top group of teams, currently in third place.
After the split round concludes next weekend, the Murray Bombers will face a tough contest against Seymour (8-3) on July 13.
