Families enjoy fun day out at Echuca Racing Club

The first race of the day was the Moama Bowling Club Maiden Plate, which was taken out by the three-year-old filly She Mogul ridden by Harry Coffey.

Another highlight was the fifth race of the day, the Quest Serviced Apartments Maiden Plate, which was won by Dennis Oliver’s four-year-old gelding Boulder Jack, with Rhys McLeod in the saddle.

Outside the track, family was the focus, with plenty of activities, food and music for everyone to enjoy.

There were umbrellas and hospitality packages available for groups while others strolled around the grounds and took in the sunny afternoon.

The kids were occupied all day with plenty of things to do, including a mechanical bull, waterslide, Kelly Sports, face painting and virtual reality.

Echuca Racing Club track manager Jarratt Farley was thrilled with the attendance and overall atmosphere of the day, particularly as it is one of the club’s biggest events.

“We’ve had exceeding 2,000 people here today, which is great to get that kind of turnout, it’s been a great day so far,” he said.

“We just thought it was a great opportunity considering all the tourists over the holiday period to put on a good event that anybody could attend.

“Everyone has looked to be upbeat, so that is really nice to see, plenty of entertainment for everyone, so it’s been quite successful.”
