There will be a strong family connection at Finley Recreation Reserve this season as the Cats look to move their way up the ladder.
Ethan Reeves will be at the helm as senior coach this season, with his brother, Bailey, one of Finley’s new recruits having come across from the SANFL.
Three Lang brothers have returned to play at their father Harvey’s old club as well, with Jack, Tom and Charlie all set to don the blue-and-white hoops in 2023.
The Cats won just three games last season, but Finley’s football manager Rick Shaw said the club was looking up.
“Finals are not out of the question,” Shaw said.
“If we can consolidate the backbone of the footy club, then moving forward, we want to put ourselves in a premiership window over the next three to five years.”
Former Tatura ruckman Robert Kirby is another key addition for the Cats, bolstering Finley’s ruck and forward stocks, while former players Jesse McDonald and Bailey Burke will also return to the Cattery.
