In the under-16 division one elimination final between Mooroopna and Kyabram it was the former that skipped away to the preliminary final with a 13-point triumph.

It was a tense final quarter for the Cats as Kyabram booted four goals straight to give them an almighty scare.

Meanwhile, on John Gray Oval it was an all-Shepparton contest in the under-14 division one qualifying final.

Shepparton-Notre’s two outfits, Gold and Maroon, went head-to-head, but it was the former that booked a ticket to the grand final.

Gold triumphed 10.6 (66) to 6.8 (44) and will now face the winner of Maroon or St Augustine’s.
