With inclement weather whipping the Goulburn Valley Playing Area greens over Sunday and Monday, a venue change was scheduled for Shepparton Golf’s bout with East Shepparton as the Golfers instead skipped over to Zurcas Lane.
And despite ceding home advantage, the boys and girls in blue had a belter.
Golf overturned a two-game losing streak to bunt East over, taking a 14-69 to 2-57 victory to vault into the top four in emphatic fashion.
Carla Miles’ rink dug out a 14-shot result for Golf, but Kevin Cox’s quartet equalled the winning margin for East in the second set of ends, proving John Stokes’ 30-18 triumph in the third as crucial.
Around the traps, Shepparton Park skidded past Tatura-Hill Top in a 12-57 to 4-53 arm wrestle, while Kyabram defeated Seymour by six shots.
Elsewhere, Tallygaroopna held firm to defeat Euroa 14-59 to 2-45.
News photographer Megan Fisher was on hand to capture the action from the Golf-East match.
