Two weeks ago, in the Kyabram District League 13-and-under netball semi-final, Tallygaroopna defeated Girgarre in a thriller by two goals.
After defeating Nagambie in last weekend’s preliminary final, Girgarre got its chance for revenge on Saturday morning when the Redlegs and Kangaroos squared off in the grand final at Mooroopna Recreation Reserve.
Tallygaroopna got off to a fast start, claiming a 12-8 lead midway through the second quarter.
However, Girgarre soon started to take control of the match.
At the end of the third quarter, the Kangaroos had tied the scores at 17 apiece but should have had the lead if not for some wayward passing.
In the fourth term, both sides gave it their all, with Kangaroos centre Daisy Woodcock demonstrating her class by protecting the drop of the ball on multiple occasions coming out of defence.
Redlegs goal shooter Shelby Manks was lethal in attack for Tally.
The Kangaroos were able to creep ahead in the fourth quarter and claim an impressive 25-22 win.
