Moama Green was on top of the world after winning the Ultimate Bowls Championship’s event two grand final on Wednesday night.

The hometown team Moama Green defeated the Warilla Gorillas 51-45 in the finale at Moama Bowling Club, taking home $50,000 in prize money as well as the winner’s trophy.
The grand final victory was extra sweet for Moama’s Ryan Bester, Wayne Turley and Kevin Anderson.
The Gorillas held a 16-5 advantage after the first end, but momentum firmly swung Moama’s way.
Green scored 21 points to Warilla’s zero on the second end, turning an 11-point deficit into a 10-point lead.
Warilla kept up the fight and trimmed the margin, with just three points separating the two sides heading into the deciding fifth end.
It was Moama Green’s Turley and Bester who held their nerve though, holding Wedlock and Teys at bay to earn a six-shot win.
Bester not only earned a victor’s medal, but he also claimed the ‘Golden Touch’ award after recording an amazing 38 touchers.
Moama Green finished second in section A, with Warilla earning third spot in section B
Green defeated the New Lynn Kiwis and Exodas to reach the grand final, while Warilla qualified after topping the Asia Tigers, Streaky Bay Sharks and North Queensland Roos.
Event three of the UBC got under way on Thursday, December 15 with the third and last final to be held on Friday night (December 16).
