Echuca-Moama’s 4-0 win over Mooroopna/Benalla in last Saturday’s under-17 semi-final has seen the River Rats progress to the 2022 grand final against Strikers/SYC.

Elyse Kerr starred with two goals and full votes in a best-on-field display, while her fellow Kerrs — Leah and Will — each snared a goal to fire the Rats to victory.
The performance is the perfect lead-in to this Saturday’s decider against the ladder-leading Strikers.
In four clashes this season, Strikers have had the better of their clashes with Echuca-Moama with three wins.
However, Echuca-Moama club president Adam Thompson is confident the “experienced” junior Rats can take the crown.
“They’re a really strong side and they’re certainly capable,” Thompson said.
“The 17s have a really good chance of winning it. They’ve got a pretty consistent, experienced side.
“Most are top aged players. Hopefully they have a fair crack at winning a premiership this weekend.”
The under-17 side aren’t the only Echuca-Moama representative through to a GVHA grand final.
The B-grade River Rats are automatically through to the grand final courtesy of finishing atop the ladder in the division and will face either SYC or Strikers in next Saturday’s decider.
Echuca-Moama battles it out for the under-17 title at Shepparton Regional Hockey Complex this Saturday, August 27, from 1.15pm.
