The Murray Bombers finished in fourth place to book a showdown with the Magpies, a side who stole a thrilling two-goal win over Echuca in round 13.
After a strong finish to the home-and-away season, Murray Bombers coach Steph Vick is happy with where her side sits as it embarks on a quest for its first A-grade flag since 2018.
“We’ve come a long way since that last Euroa game, and our last two rounds have been great against some talented teams,” Vick said.
“Last time we started off quite slow. We just had to push all game to make up that margin. We weren’t connecting well from one end of the court to the other.
“Euroa were incredibly strong in attack, their goalers moved the ball quite fast and they shot accurately.”
Echuca’s only concern heading into the clash at Kings Park is that of star goal-shooter Bianca Willis, who sat out the last round through injury.
“I wouldn’t say her return’s confirmed but we’re hoping that she’s good to go. She’s doing everything she can to be back on court,” Vick said.
“Otherwise, we’re shaping up quite well for this weekend.”
Echuca’s last final was an extra-time thriller against Shepparton United in 2019, one where the Murray Bombers fell just short by three goals.
The current squad is quite different to what it was then, and Vick knows the challenge ahead if they are to make an impact in September.
“It seems like so long ago,” Vick said.
“Even compared to that team to now there’s been a lot of changes.
“The league is incredibly strong at the moment. I reflect back on my past finals history and I’m just so excited for this series.
“There’s a lot of incredibly talented players that are playing for state league sides.”
