Ben Hamilton made an impressive return to the racetrack on May 20, with the Cobram racer hitting South Australia’s Tailem Bend racetrack.

Round two of the Victorian Pulsar Series, the weekend’s races came with plenty of new challenges for Hamilton and his team.
The speedster finished with plenty of points on the weekend, however the real victory came with getting four wheels on the track.
It was a mammoth task for Hamilton to make it on the tarmac, with a whole new car required to be fitted out after his round one crash.
Hamilton and his supporters at Vurgel Precision Automotive were working until midday the day before qualifying to get the car finished, arriving at 3am in South Australia on the day of qualifying.
Despite returning from a crash that resulted in hospitalisation and fitting out a new car, Hamilton said he was raring to go.
“It all went as planned, no PTSD at all, as soon as I got on the track I knew this was where I was meant to be,” Hamilton said.
Unfortunately for Hamilton, the new car did not run as smoothly as possible, with braking issues resulting in more work needing to be done.
Tricky start: It was a difficult beginning to the season for Hamilton, with the racer crashing in round one.

Hamilton finished qualifying in sixth position on Friday, remaining in sixth at the end of race one and fifth in race two on the Saturday.
On the Sunday it was more of the same, with the driver finishing in sixth in race three, four and five.
“I was happy to finish every race,” Hamilton said.
“It was definitely a good points banking weekend.”
Work will now begin on preparation for the next race in the season, with Hamilton’s local track, Winton, set to be in action.
“We’ll get underneath the car and find out what’s going on,” Hamilton said.
“We’ll throw some parts at it.”
The next round of racing will get under way at Winton in July.
