With table-topper Numurkah having a week off due to a bye, it was up to Euroa to keep the pressure on — and after a gutsy performance it is well in with a chance of finishing on top come season’s end.
Euroa took on Karramomus at home and kept the visitors to 7-68 after 20 overs.
Some great bowling by Darby Wilson, 1-0 off three, and Maxwell Miller, 1-1 off two, helped give Euroa the upper hand, while a handy 18 off 15 balls from Wilson helped guide the home side to a strong 9-83 total.
A remarkable 3-5 off 1.5 overs from Ryan Brown was too little too late for Karramomus as Euroa ran out the victor and holds its spot in second place.
At Waaia Recreation Reserve it was a tight contest with Northerners posting a strong 6-82 in response to Waaia’s 8-79.
The three-run victory came after a Bodi Fitzsimmons masterclass with the ball, taking 3-1 off two overs to keep Waaia’s total down, which ultimately won Northerners the contest.
Mooroopna was too strong for Old Students White in their clash at Kialla, with a ridiculous 4-9 off three overs from Old Students’ Alyse O’Connell the pick of the bowlers.
A solid 31 not out from Nate Earl, including three fours and one six, was not enough to get the home side across the line, with Mooroopna's 6-92 too strong for Old Students White’s 9-80.
In the other game of the round, Notre Dame-St Brendan’s posted 9-91, including a 48 not out from Max Hooper, however, the match was abandoned.
Round 11 will have Mooroopna take on Northerners, Old Students White play Waaia, Old Students Blue travel to Numurkah and Euroa take on Norte Dame-St Brendan’s.
