At the end of day one, L-G opener Billy Hawken remained unbeaten on 61 alongside Josh Hawken, and the two got straight back to business on day two.
The pair were on the cusp of passing 150 for L-G before a stellar bit of fielding work by Nondies’ Will O’Shea brought an end to Billy Hawken’s innings at 80.
L-G’s number seven, Blake Gibson, lasted only eight balls before he was bowled by Xavier Wishart for a duck.
Josh Hawken and Liam Keath were able to steady the ship once more for L-G, building a nice partnership of 45 before Hawken was stumped on the doorstep of 200 for his side, leaving the middle for 39.
Captain James Keath supported Liam, who was scoring well, but when James was caught by Will Ringin for eight, he decided to pack it in, declaring at 8-218.
Liam Keath ended the innings at 29 not-out, a handy knock from a number eight batsman.
L-G looked to come up big and claim the second innings points by bowling out Nondies again and got off to a cracking start.
Riley Keath claimed the wicket of Zeb Ellwood with just his third delivery, the batsman being caught by Liam Keath for a duck.
Not wanting to be rolled in the second innings, the Nondies batsmen dug deep, Angus Donat and Will Ringin hanging around 17 overs and accumulating 37 runs before Ringin was caught by Blake Gibson for 12.
Typically, when one wicket falls after a lengthy partnership, another quickly follows and in this case, it was Ringin’s running mate Donat getting trapped lbw by Blake Gibson for 23 just five balls later.
Captain Will O’Shea and Xavier Wishart did the same as the pair before them, surviving for 15 overs and putting on 40 runs between them before Liam Keath caught and bowled O’Shea for 24.
Again, Wishart and Haffenden survived for the remaining 15 overs in the day, not allowing L-G to claim outright points against them, the pair scoring 26 not-out from 94 balls and two not-out from 50 balls, respectively.
This meant that Nondies ended their second innings at 4-97, while L-G still won the game thanks to their superb batting performance in their first innings.
L-G have managed to build some momentum, winning in back to back rounds, and will need all they can get when they face table-toppers Rochester in round five.
Meanwhile Nondies-Cohuna will get a week to rest and address some issues in its game with a bye in round five.
