There have been some big early off-season moves in local football, including the reigning Murray Football League O’Dwyer medallist.
Two-time Tongala best-and-fairest Nick Jamieson headlines the changes, with the former VFL midfielder bound for Mornington Peninsula club Sorrento after 31 games for the Blues.
Jamieson isn’t the only Blue to make the move, with talented goal-sneak Mackenzie Cowley set to take on the Goulburn Valley League with semi-finalists Mooroopna.
Cowley departs after 24 goals in 2022 with the Blues, while Tonny backman Brayden Nevett has moved across to HDFNL club Leitchville-Gunbower, which is building nicely with several key additions under new coach Shannon Keam.
The Bombers have also welcomed former leading goal-kicker Tyler Jones back to the club, while spearhead Chris Horman will join him down forward following a stint with Moama and AFL Outer East club Kinglake.
Keam, a 2010 Murray Football League premiership player with Moama, along with assistant coach Ayden Walton, will spearhead Leitchville-Gunbower’s efforts to improve on its 1-15 2022 season.
Meanwhile, GVL premiers Echuca have farewelled ruckman Jed Brereton, with the Bendigo Pioneer’s talent aligning with Bendigo Football League club Strathfieldsaye.
