At the Kerang Easter Tournament, Crossman won all five matches she played, winning her quarter- and semi-finals in the open women’s singles without dropping a game, before claiming the final 6-1, 6-2 over doubles partner Piper Freeman.
In the open women’s doubles, the Crossman/Freeman pairing dominated proceedings, only dropping one game during the final to claim a 6-0, 6-1 win over Lisa Daye and Rochelle Joyce.
It was more of the same in Swan Hill for Crossman, who eased to the women’s singles crown without encountering too much trouble, taking the title over second seed Bianca Duff 6-1, 6-2 in the final.
Teaming up with Freeman again for the double’s competition, the top-ranked pair claimed a 6-1, 6-3 win in the final over the Bianca and Zoe Duff combination, making it two straight tournaments without dropping a set.
Crossman’s supreme run of form continued into the open mixed doubles, where paired with fellow local Deagan Tomkins, she claimed yet another title, although it did not come easily.
Having not dropped a set in any match so far, Crossman and Tomkins found themselves down 4-2 after the opening set had been played in the final against Chanchai Sookton-Eng and Jessica Nuen.
In the three-set match, they managed to find a break in the second set, winning that 5-3 to level proceedings at a set apiece.
The deciding set was worthy of the match to that point, with players on both sides of the net pushing one another to play unbelievable tennis, before eventually Crossman and Tomkins managed to find the break, winning 10-8.
The Kingma family has also enjoyed success on the courts, with Eli, Tim and Ayla all progressing to the finals of their respective divisions at the Kerang Easter Tournament.
Teaming up for the men’s D-grade doubles, Tim and Eli progressed to the final, where they finished runners-up to Lachlan Hecker and Ryan Taylor.
In the D-grade mixed doubles, Tim teamed up with Ayla, and they defeated Cameron Foots and Carmen Van Der Vlugt in the final, winning 8-4.
Ayla enjoyed individual success at Kerang also, where she was triumphant in the under 16 girls singles, winning all three of her matches in the round-robin format to be crowned the champion.
Eli was also in action at the Swan Hill event, where he made the final in the under 12 boys singles and doubles, as well as the under 12 mixed doubles.
Finishing runner-up in the singles to Nicholas Mitsinikos, where he lost 6-1, 6-2, Eli bounced back to claim victory in the doubles alongside Lucas Mikkelsen, winning 4-6, 6-1, 10-7, and the mixed doubles, alongside Amra Fleming, beating top seeds Roy Savage and Sienna Grgic 4-0, 5-4.
After a fantastic display of tennis, Eli was selected to represent the Loddon Campaspe under 10 boys team in the Wayne Arthurs Cup, played at Kooyong Lawn Tennis Club in Melbourne on April 15 and 16.
