There are no foregone conclusions in darts when it comes to finals. There is a different level of pressure on the players as it becomes a “Do or Die” situation, and that’s just what happened in the 2nd division preliminary final.
Passouts who were favoured to win ended up going down to the undermanned Pastoral Pirates. The Pirates without spearhead Norm Hodge kept their cool and proved to be the better team on the night winning 6-3 to progress to the following week’s Grand Final where they played the undefeated Pastoral Warriors.
1st division showed no similarity as the more fancied Projectile Dysfunction overcame Falcon Hasbeens to win 6-4. Projectile Dysfunction went on to take on Misfits who led all season and were considered favourites.
Grand finals match results
In a fairly uneventful first division Grand Final, Misfits easily disposed of Projectile Dysfunction in a 6-1 drubbing. Highlights included 2 x 180s, one by Joanne Hadley, the other by Michael Bajowski, no surprises there.
The highest peg out went to Dylan Oaff with a mighty 118. Dylan also threw a total of 7 tons to top the list while, Shane Broucek, Alex Oakley and Michael Bajowski all threw 5 each.
Michael also had the highest overall average of 26.73 per dart. Top darts by all.
2nd division was a much closer race. Undefeated all season, Pastoral Warriors were clear favourites; however, it came down to a nail-biting teams game to finally give them victory in a 6-5 result against the Pastoral Pirates, who in all fairness had struggled to stay in the four all season.
The Pirates were again without Norm Hodge due to illness. There were 5 x 140’s thrown. 2 by Rob Molnar and 1 each to Shane Valentine, Val McKee and Amon Sinnott.
Amon had the highest out shot with 53 and Stuart Diggerson had the highest dart average with 14.55.

Association shirts
I’ve been in touch with Paul Bithell, Biff to those who know him. I’ve asked him to propose a couple of designs for a new association playing shirt.
Hopefully he’ll get back to me in time to discuss the options at presentation night. We hope to keep costs to a minimum and once a decision is made, members will be able to purchase them at cost.
