And what a time to debut.
On the back of a whirlwind 48 hours last week, where former AFL legend Eddie Betts was announced to play for Rumbalara late on Thursday night for Saturday’s home match against Deniliquin, we felt there was no time like the present to begin our now-regular podcast product.
Trying to land upon a name for the fresh-faced sports desk’s latest offering proved a tricky assignment.
Our goal is to provide a high-quality news-driven podcast for our listeners — but we also don’t want to take ourselves too seriously.
Which is why we’ve landed on calling ourselves the midday warriors.
At the end of the day, we just want to be relatable to our listeners — and the lunchtime league needs all of the publicity it can get at the moment.
After all, we can’t all play at the top level.
We want to be able to sit around and discuss some of the biggest weekly highlights in this sports-rich region, and provide you with some insight into how our other products come together on a daily basis.
This includes interviews, as well as a bit of behind-the-scenes banter to keep the spirits high and keyboards humming.
Whether it is footy, netball, soccer, cricket, basketball, tennis, hockey, lawn bowls, athletics, badminton or croquet, we think all of the incredible sporting performances that we are fortunate enough to write about each day are worth shouting from the rooftops.
It matters to us and it should matter to you as well.
