The Steamers earned success in two rinks, with Geoffrey Beattie skipping his side to a 21-17 win over the Steve Cunnington-led Echuca, while Michael Linehan clinched the points for Moama in his rink, defeating George Thornley’s Echuca 25-21.
James Ferrier earned success for Echuca in his rink with a 21-16 win, however it wasn’t enough to help his side to the overall win.
Deniliquin earned a tight victory over Tongala in their match-up, winning 12-60 to 4-54 despite claiming only one of the three rinks.
Jamie Shields (skip), Carly Crothers (lead), John Fisher (second) and Stephen O’Brien (third) handed Deniliquin a 25-to-12-shot win in their rink, which ultimately decided the overall outcome.
Barry Tinning earned Tongala points in his rink, winning 18-17, as did Matthew Liverton who skipped his side to a 24-18 victory, yet they still fell six shots short of the overall win.
Rich River has accounted for Mathoura in their face-off, triumphing 14-58 to 2-45.
Skip Jason McCloy gave some joy to his Mathoura side, claiming a 17-14 win in his rink to ensure the side walked away with some points.
But Rich River proved too good elsewhere, with the Trevor Nagorcka and Steven Pavone rinks prevailing 21-14 and 23-14 respectively.
Rochester claimed its third consecutive win in the competition, defeating Stanhope 14-60 to 2-53.
Playing away from home, Rochester secured wins in two of the three rinks to notch the overall win by seven shots.
Brian Trengove skipped Rob Dennis (lead), Allan Crilly (second) and Kaye Barker (third) to a 22-18 victory over the Robert Ponton-led Stanhope to claim points in that battle, while Richard Feuk (skip), Francis Keech (lead), Don Gillies (second) and Graham Willis (third) claimed a 25-19 win in their rink.
Stanhope’s only success came in the Barry Fletcher-skipped rink, with the home side taking the contest 16-13 over John Weeks’ Rochester quartet.
Division two
A rampant Moama side accounted for Rochester 16-78 to 0-31, while Echuca also claimed all three rinks in their 16-59 to 0-53 win against Tongala.
Deni RSL won comfortably against Mathoura, prevailing 14-70 to 2-50, while Rich River and Deniliquin played out a draw.
Division three
Rochester earned a solid victory over Mathoura away from home, winning 14-79 to 2-58, while Elmore were also big winners over Deni RSL, triumphing 14-70 to 2-52.
Lockington was edged out by Echuca, falling 2-53 to 14-61, while Stanhope recorded a mammoth 16-83 to 0-43 win over Rich River.
Moama also claimed a clean sweep, beating Deniliquin 16-80 to 0-49.
Division four
Lockington was victorious over Tongala in their round-six clash, winning 15-58 to 1-41, while Echuca claimed all three rinks against Rich River to win 16-70 to 0-41.
Deniliquin RSL earned a big triumph over Ky Valley View, winning 16-85 to 0-45, while Moama narrowly beat Stanhope 13-54 to 3-53.
Division five
Elmore notched a big win over Echuca at home, winning 14-52 to 0-32, while Lockington claimed the honours against Rochester, winning 12-45 to 2-38.
Moama Black proved too strong for Moama Green, prevailing 14-44 to 0-35, while Tongala forfeited against Echuca White.
