On top of that, the club’s A and C-grade netball sides along with the senior football team qualified for finals, and president Darren Maloney said it was a good time to be a Blue.
“I’m excited for the teams that have made it to the big dance,” Maloney said.
“It’s been a terrific effort by those sides, and a terrific effort by all other teams as well.
“We can’t be prouder of the group of people that have been involved with the club from the committee down to the players and supporters.
“We look forward to bigger and stronger things next year, we just keep building.”
The “blue wave” is expected to descend on Moama Reserve this Saturday to see their sides compete for premiership glory.
“I think you’ll find there will be plenty of support there for Tonny,” Maloney said.
“We do get a good following which is great and that comes back to the community spirit.
“Our saying is ‘one in, all in’, and I think the entire town will be there on Saturday.
“The schools are making posters and banners, everyone’s coming down on Thursday night, the whole clubrooms will be decked out with paintings and well wishes.”
A tight-knit approach has laid the groundwork for Tongala’s recent success, and Maloney said it was the strongest he’d seen the club.
“I think it’s a credit to all the people involved in the club,” Maloney said.
“The closeness of the football and netball committee has never been stronger than what it is.
“I’ve been in charge for seven or eight years, this is the strongest the club’s ever been.”
