It will be Walsh’s fourth season in charge of the Blues after taking on the role in 2020.
Walsh and United returned to the Picola & District League finals this year, finishing eighth with seven wins, seven losses and one draw.
It was an improved season for United after they finished 11th in the abbreviated 2021 season, earning just four wins.
Walsh said he is excited to be United’s coach again in 2023.
“I love the club, the people there both in terms of the players and also the community that gets behind the club is fantastic,” Walsh said.
“We made some great growth from last year to this year and I think another season behind the wheel will hopefully help us get to where we are wanting to.
“We will be looking to build on what we have done this year. We made finals, but next year I am anticipating our expectation will be to go even further than we made it this year.
“We have a big focus on locals. We want to make sure everyone we bring into Picola as a footballer, netballer or just a club person, really buys into the family environment that we have.”
It will be a slightly different role for Walsh, a playing coach himself, with a co-coach to join him at the helm. His partner is yet to be announced.
Walsh spent his junior career with United and played in their 2016 premiership side.
