The announcement of the addition of Dookie United late last season seemed to indicate a 16-team competition was on the way, but the recent withdrawal of struggler Yarroweyah has returned the league to 15 teams, much like last season.
Local hopes Picola United and Mathoura will be two of 12 teams kicking off their 2025 campaign in round 1 on April 5.
The Blues will host Katunga, while the Timbercutters will face a visit from Deniliquin Rovers in the opening round.
In a point of difference from last season, this year’s later Easter will have most sides sitting out, only Tocumwal and Berrigan taking the field on the holiday weekend, while Picola and Mathoura will reignite their rivalry the following weekend, April 26.
The two sides won’t meet again until the final regular season round on August 9.
A general bye will be held on July 12, while Picola’s individual bye will be in round 9, on May 31, and Mathoura’s will come in round 14 on July 5.
After the 18-round regular season, finals will be held across five weekends beginning with elimination finals on August 16 and 17 and concluding with grand final day on September 13.
