Charlie Isaac rounded off a big week by claiming Kyabram’s Under-18 best and fairest award, having been one of three Bombers invited to trial with the Bendigo Pioneers Coates Talent League squad.

Isaac, leading goalkicker Hamish Stewart and Under-16 best and fairest winner Isaiah Scoble have all been invited to complete pre-season with the Pioneers.
Stewart kicked 45 goals (including a haul of 12 against Tatura in round seven) in 19 games for the Bombers and finished just outside the top 10 in the best and fairest count.
Isaac, who still has two years to run at under-18 level, polled 343 votes to win the award clearly from goalkicking midfielder Lachlan Carver. Carver kicked 26 goals for the season and polled 297 votes in his 19 games, but also has another year of under-age football remaining.
Oscar Dixon, who debuted at senior level in round 10 and played three games, was third with 194 votes and another teenager to play at senior level – Tyler Norman – was fourth.
Norman’s return of 182 votes was all the more impressive by the fact he played only 10 games at under-18 level, having been promoted to senior ranks in round seven and rewarded with nine games – including the elimination final.
Other players to feature were Cohan Hooper (159), Liam Mason (140), Max Carroll (both of them, there are two players who share the same name in the team), Hunter Fawcett and Jay Gentle.
Jayden Fitzgerald won the Kyabram club's reserve grade best and fairest award.
- Jayden Fitzgerald was named the reserve grade best and fairest winner, polling 159 votes to win by 20 from regular senior player Miller Griffiths.
Griffiths played 10 games at senior level this season, but polled 139 votes in his 10 reserve grade appearances to finish runner-up ahead of Bailey Pyke (132), Ben Railton (123) and Riley Gallivan.
Surprising was the 103-vote return (13th overall) of Adam Pulsoni, who finished runner-up in the league’s Abikhair Medal voting.
Other players to feature in the reserve grade count were Will Wild and David Coulthard (119), Stephen Drake (114) and Will McDonnell (112).
Isaiah Scoble with the Gus Underwood and Mick Ryan Trophy, awarded to the Under-16 best and fairest winner.
– In the Under-16 count, for the Gus Underwood and Mick Ryan Trophy, Isaiah Scoble won the award from James Hargreaves.
Scoble played a game of senior football with Kyabram District League club Girgarre during the season and also appeared on three occasions with the Bombers’ under-18 team - including in the team’s only final.
He was among the best players on the ground in that losing team and is the younger brother of Angus Scoble, who was a star for Kyabram as a bottom age player last year in the under-18 finals series.
Angus Scoble played five games for the Bendigo Pioneers in the Coates Talent League this year and was a regular for Tongala at senior Murray league level.
Goalkicker Jedd Turpin (40 goals in 16 games) won the most consistent award, while Dylan Priest (most improved), Oliver Barnett (most determined) and Tyler Doolan (coaches award) were also recognised.
