There were three 180s, one from Michael Bajowski of Rich River Golf Club’s “Misfits”, and, incredibly, two from Mick Dowling of Lockington Hotel’s “26ers”.
Caylee Crilly of the Tongala Hotel “CC’s”, one of our juniors, is showing marked improvement by winning her first singles game.
Caylee is part of the future of darts, where there is now a definitive career path for players wishing to take it.
Only recently, 32-year-old Michael Smith of England became world champion.
Round two saw the introduction of new team “Rich River Hornets” into second division.
Hornets had the bye in the first round so for them there were a few teething issues, however they quickly got into the swing of things. Unfortunately however, they went down to WARMA, 8-3.
P-Heads had a huge win, 10-1, win over 26ers and Misfits went on their merry way with an 8-3 win over Double Trouble, looking like the team to beat.
Bar Flies defeated Tonny Terrors 7-4, while the remaining games in second division saw Pass Outs taking care of Dad’s Army 7-4 and Ocheholics going down to Tonny CC’s , also 7-4.
Individually, four players had averages over 20 per dart.
They were Michael Bajowski (22.96), Darren Manners, (22.69), Max Crilly (21.38) and our top lady player, Janine Cassar (20.58).
The top 100+ throwers included Darren Manners with nine, Michael Bajowsji eight, Dave Clarke seven and Mick Dowling with six.
The shortest game was Dallas Barnstable with 20 darts, Janine Cassar and Max Crilly with 21, Michael Bajowski with 22 and Jason Crilly with 23.
