The teams played two concurrent 50 overs matches on the Saturday from about 9.30am and finished about 5pm.
Then on the Sunday, 20/20 games were held starting at 9.30am and finished about 1pm.
St Kilda donned their yellow, red and black one day kit while Melbourne wore their red and navy blue.
The decision to travel to Deniliquin to play practice matches at Memorial Park comes on the back of relationships made by local cricketers from around the area.
This includes brothers Bryan and Laurie Harper who played for St Kilda and Melbourne respectively and current Australian off-spinner Todd Murphy from Moama, as well as his father ‘Jack’, from Mathoura, who have both played premier cricket at St Kilda Cricket Club.
The trip had been organised for this time of year with it difficult to find high quality pitches in Victoria unaffected by Aussie Rules football.
The clubs were very professional and the pitches were well prepared by the local curators.
The teams and travelling club members stayed at local accommodation providers across Deniliquin.
The games were only practice matches but they provided the Deniliquin community an opportunity to watch high quality cricket.
