The local Deniliquin Rhinos Cricket Club welcomes players of all skill levels to participate in the local and Murray Valley Cricket Association competitions.
It has been a big off season for the club, with the grounds at Deniliquin Memorial Park used for recent Melbourne CC and St Kilda CC matches, the completion of new clubrooms and other projects using grant funding and the arrival of UK imports Matt Taylor and Griegan French who will bolster the A-grade Rhinos’ ranks this season.
The Rhinos will field an A-grade and C-grade side in the MVCA this year, with training held Thursday nights in the nets at Memorial Park.
For the juniors, depending on interest, the club hopes to form under-17s, under-15s and under-13s teams in the MVCA, as well as an under-13s Deniliquin district competition.
The club will also offer Rhinos Blast for those aged five to 10.
The under-17s and under-15s will play 40 over, two-day games in the MVCA on Thursday/Friday nights and Saturday mornings respectively.
Numbers may mean teams join nearby towns to allow players to participate in their age group.
The under-13s in the MVCA also play on Thursday or Friday evenings, and train on Thursday afternoons.
Rhinos Blast will be at Memorial Park on Fridays from 4pm to 4.50pm, starting October 18 and running until December 6.
The youngsters will participate in modified games, with all equipment provided. A Cricket Australia Blast Pack is included with registration.
If your interested in joining, head along to a training session or message the Deniliquin Rhinos’ Facebook page.
