We are now back to our second round of versus teams. This week, we played Marong, which was a repeat of our very first game. It was amazing to see the difference in our girls' skills, confidence and game sense. The opposition coach even remarked on how far the team has come.
In an outstanding team effort to get the win, which included an extremely well fought final quarter, our weekly awards went to Macey Macfarlane and Maya Riordan along with our One Percenter award to Willow Brooks.

Under 16 Boys
The Under 16s were absolutely clinical in their clash with Sandhurst in a triple-header at Windridge this weekend.
In what was thought to be a close encounter, Rochester had the game sewn up within the first quarter, booting 9 unanswered goals in the first 20 minutes of footy.
Goals were coming from everyone and everywhere, with usual suspects Morgan Boyack and Kade Pearse hitting the scoreboard, as well as Jimmy Otto, booting 4 goals of his own in the first term.
The rest of the game followed a similar trend.
It was midfield domination from Darby Martin, Sam Seabrook, Cale James and Tom Drust, their fast handballing out of stoppage too much for Sandhurst to handle.
Ruckmen Darcey Pump, Curtis Howard and Jack Brennan dominated hit outs all day, as well as taking crucial intercept marks down back.
Defence was once again rock solid, nothing getting through the half back line, with Jackson Morgan and Mitch Munro rebounding so effectively like usual.
Amon Riordan’s recent form continued strong, kicking a goal of his own while collecting plenty of the ball, his partners in crime Tom McFadzean, Ben Hewes and Blake Kyne also hitting the scoreboard.
After the second half, magnets were moved, and Rochester was able to record 14 individual goal-kickers, a record for the season.
Usual defenders Jake Munro and Cal Giffin snuck forward, both kicking majors, Giffin’s a banana from the boundary if you don’t mind.
Highlight reels were also created from Brodie Murphy and Kaelan Connor, kicking their first goals for the season. After missing several weeks, Cyril Thomas-Tuaiti didn’t look out of place, sneaking forward and creating opportunities for his teammates.
The way the boys all played for each other and looked to share the ball around was a delight to watch, and the way they celebrated each other’s success put smiles on the faces of all.
Rochester 25.10 (160) defeated Sandhurst 3.3 (21)

Spirit of Footy
This weekend we celebrated the Spirit of Footy round with the Echuca United Eagles.
The “Spirit of Footy” Round was centered around three main qualities; sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play. The Round encouraged players to embody the true essence of the game by demonstrating respect towards opponents, officials, and teammates alike.
Congratulations to all players from both teams on the Spirit they displayed today, and every week.
As part of the official proceedings, each team chose an opposition player who they believed displayed sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play throughout the match. These players were presented with a medal from the opposition Captain.
Congratulations to Cruz Formosa (Echuca United) and Walt James (Rochester Tigers) on being chosen as the Spirit of Footy medal recipients.
