Footballers Julian Morgan and Riley Mason, along with netballers Toni Bootland and Shona Gesler, were all present at the Goulburn Valley Hotel on Monday, September 16, to receive their awards.
Morgan's dominance of the reserves competition this season, which included a huge bag of 14 in the final round to win the goal kicking competition with 52 majors, helped lead his side to a preliminary final appearance, where they were bundled out by Rochester, who ran out 25-point winners.
Mason established himself as the best forward in the competition this season, if not the best player. He booted a league-leading 72 goals and did what he wanted with his opponents on a weekly basis.
Both Bootland and Gesler finished in the top five in the B-Reserve league best-and-fairest count, with Shona finishing runner-up.
Bootland and Gesler's contributions were pivotal in leading the Lions to an undefeated regular season and a triumphant grand final victory, where they outplayed Rochester 44-30.
Not content with only the flag, the Lions came away with trophies as the best defensive and scoring team in the competition.
