The Tigers’ backs were up against the wall early in the game when SYC scored from the baseline.
For much of the game the scoreline would remain the same. However, shortly after in the third quarter, Andrew Glazzard tied the game up to the thrill of celebrating Tigers fans and players alike.
This score remained the same until the last minute of the game when Benalla had a short corner called against it.
A penalty shootout has previously looked all but guaranteed before this call, but the Scorchers took full advantage to score off the corner to seal a third consecutive grand final win.
The Scorchers later scored a third goal and put the game to rest.
Charlie Grimwade, Noah Gillies and James Black were standouts in the Tigers tight loss.
Gillies was awarded the most valuable player for the grand finale match on the weekend and will now look forward to competing in the under-14s National Championships for Victoria later this year in Perth.
