Kay, a former Bendigo Pioneer and VFL-listed midfielder, will call Elmore Recreation Reserve home in 2023 alongside Rochester’s number-one ruckman Russell as the Bloods look to climb the Heathcote District Football Netball League ladder.
Kay and Russell played all but one game for Rochester this season, and were key cogs of the Tigers’ midfield make-up en-route to finals.
Fellow Rochester tall Jarrad Kyne has also departed Moon Oval in a raft of key additions for the Bloods.
Elmore has also added key forward Jordan Buckley and Violet Town’s Jacob Styles in a big boost for the Bloods’ forward line.
Elmore finished the 2022 HDFNL season in seventh, netting three wins for the year.
Rochester announced in early September that club stalwart Ash Watson would be taking the coaching reins from Steve Stroobants in 2023.
The Tigers qualified for Goulburn Valley League finals but bowed out to Mooroopna in an elimination final.
Former North Melbourne defender Shaun Atley is also set to be another loss for the Tigers with a move overseas imminent.
