A and B-grade combined to race for 30 mins plus three laps with a solid group of 8: George Griffiths, Max Trewhella, Nathan Oman, Francis Lias, Kevin Laffy, Nick McNair, Bryce Denham and Nick Woods.
Never one to let things settle, Max showed his hand early and took off from the start with the group under strain from the beginning.
As the race progressed, constant surging put Bryce under the pump as he lost touch. Once again Max kicked clear with Kevin Laffy for company, though the move was countered by Nathan and George and co.
As the bell sounded, it was Nick McNair who surged, only to be overtaken by Max who took the win narrowly from Nathan Oman, with Nick in third.
C-grade
There was a familiar feel about C-grade with regulars Matt Dobeli, Claire Goodman, Darren McKemmish and Liam Clohosey joined by Dave Faulkner for 25 mins plus three laps.
Showing the benefits of some not so secret training, Liam spent repeat laps on the front; however, it was Dave Faulkner who seemed to be the strong man of the group.
With just under five minutes to go, Dazza lost contact, and it was a race of four.
On the final lap, Matt made his move but was overpowered by Liam (1st) and Dave (2nd) in the sprint to the line.
D-grade
We welcomed back Maddy Kunowski to EMCC as she joined Heather Lias, Ray Hamilton, Paul Oman, Dave Oman, Jerrod Davison and Zenon Gawronski for 25 mins plus three laps.
A steady pace was the order of the day and when greeted by the bell, it was anyone's race. Maddy looked strong on the front, but as the line approached it was Heather Lias who pushed for the win, followed by Dave Oman 2nd and Paul Oman 3rd.
Thanks to race director H and to Dazz and co who helped set up the track for racing.
Welcome aboard Welch Builders as the season sponsor, we'll see you all next week.
