The Ballendella native and St Joseph’s College, Echuca, student has been playing with the Shepp-based Goulburn Valley Suns in the Victorian Premier League 2, since making the step-up to the side from the Echuca Moama Border Raiders in 2022.
At the GV Suns presentation night in October, Turri was recognised as the club’s under-16 best-and-fairest for 2024.
Turri appeared 31 times in the under-16s in 2024, split across a February to April summer-autumn competition and the regular winter season.
He was also called up to the under-18 squad on nine occasions throughout the year and took advantage of a more attacking role to slot three goals in the higher grade.
Since joining the club following a successful trial at the start of 2022, Turri has made a total of 95 appearances from under-14s up to 18s.
Despite Turri’s starring role, the GV Suns struggled in the competition this season, finishing eighth in the 11-team league with a record of 6-4-10, and eleventh, of twelve in the earlier summer-autumn competition.
The VPL 2 is the third tier of Victorian football behind the National Premier Leagues Victoria, and VPL 1, and features teams based in Melbourne and major regional centres.
Turri’s father Marc was also recognised at the Suns’ award night, sharing club person of the year honours.
