Eight best-and-fairest winners were announced across the football and netball grades, while a separate five were crowned in the general awards category.
Crafty Echuca midfielder Liam Gronow grabbed the top gong in under-16 division one football, while the division two prize went the way of silky Seymour on-baller Rory Kennedy.
Shepparton Notre’s Lincoln Brand was bestowed the under-14 division one best-and-fairest, Ethan Saxon of Euroa collected the division two award and Alexandra’s Heath Sutcliffe had the most votes in the under-14 Seymour division.
In netball, Alexandra had a healthy representation of best-and-fairest winners with Marli Coller (15-and-under) and Harper Williams (11-and-under), while Seymour’s Georgia Hadisutanto was the 13-and-under champion.
Alexandra’s overflowing cup did not stop at the playing prizes.
Rebels’ 15-and-under mentor Michelle Jack claimed rights to the Netball Coach of the Year, while under-12 leader Ben Broadway walked out with the Junior Football Coach of the Year title.
The Youth Coach of the Year was handed to Tabilk’s Bo Harrison, while the Umpires of the Year were Mooroopna’s Dylan De Maria (Central Goulburn) and Echuca’s Oscar Eade (Murray).
The event at GV Hotel on September 10 was well attended, with the crowd hearing from former Shepparton Swan and current Adelaide Crow Josh Rachele.
AFL Goulburn Murray region manager Shaun Connell said it was a fitting end to a stunning season.
“After a successful season that saw over 2200 participants and a record 118 teams enter, we came together to recognise and celebrate the league’s best players, coaches and officials.”
