This lovely store, full of diverse goodies along with the usual lot of magazines and newspapers, is thriving thanks to Jenny and John Lovell.
The Lovells have been operating the shop for almost two decades, after settling down in town 18 years ago.
Tatura is one-of-a-kind when it comes to living and enjoying life, according to John.
“Tatura has got the best of both worlds,” he said.
“It's close to Shepparton, we have got a very diverse retail offering, plenty of industry, a lot of employment and on top of that a lot of development going on.”
The newsagent has been noticing more young families moving from Melbourne to Tatura, along with an increasing flow of tourists on the weekends.
“Young couples and families are moving into our town because everything’s covered here, especially when it comes to football, netball or even bowls — and all the amenities required for these sports.”
For John, if he had to describe Tatura in two words, he would say “vibrant” and “progressive”.
His wife Jenny rejoices in living in such a strong community.
“People have a great sense of community here, and with the new development going on we hope that more and more people will take on an interest in our lovely rural town,” she said.
“Locals and tourists are starting to really appreciate their little retail shopping strip, and we are blessed with good food as we have so many lovely eateries here.”
